Match Rules
-
All matches are the best of three sets.
-
Singles matches: play a tie-break at 6-6 in the first two sets but play out the final set to a difference of two games.
-
Doubles Matches: due to the handicapping system it is not possible to play a tie break so all sets should be played out to a difference of two games. However, if the handicap results in scratch, then please play a tie break at 6-6 in the first two sets.
-
Handicaps are being emailed along with match schedules.
-
Weekday matches will start at 6.30pm and 8pm. Weekend matches will start at 10.30am and 2.30pm. We need all matches to start promptly and be completed as we have a lot to fit in. We have therefore booked the courts from 6pm,10am and 2pm to allow a warm up time. Those players scheduled to start at 8pm, should arrive around 7.30pm and we will get you on court as soon as possible depending when the earlier match finishes. Please note the lights go out at 10pm.
-
One of the organisers will be at the club each evening to organise floodlights, collect results etc.
-
You don't need to book courts or sort out floodlights but you do need to provide your own match balls.
-
To ensure that matches are played to schedule, please turn up even if it’s raining and you think the match may be cancelled. If the courts are playable, matches will go ahead.
-
Matches will normally be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
-
The entry fee is £4 per competition or £10 for all 3. Fees should be paid by BACS during the first week of the tournament. Bank details were sent an email on 25th August along with the contact details of all competitors. We recommended you contact your doubles playing partner.
-
There are no cash prizes but every finalist will receive a shiny trophy to display on their mantelpiece!
